The Rock

Coronado National Forest : Idlewilde Campground It’s morning, the sun has risen and is shining brightly while the cool air is most welcoming. I climbed up a giant rock finding the perfect spot to look at the world from a different perspective.  A perfectly strange and unstable place to do yoga, meditate and journal!

It was kind of hard balancing during yoga, there isn’t a flat spot. I found it hard to concentrate from all my stumbling. It made me laugh, a LOT.  I’m enjoying this new view and the feeling of a different pull from gravity. It sure is making things interesting.

Standing tall, I became rooted through the rock and deep into the earth. Today is about you, your love of self. Not about the past. Not about the date today. Remember, don’t let others, past, present, or future, take your shine away.

Reunited and it feels so good

Green Valley AZ, Barb & Gary’s (The Stranders) side street. It’s 7am, I’m in the RV and the sun is almost all the way risen, it’s too damn early!

We made our way to Green Valley to meet up with some of Alice’s old friends and the Stranders (Barb & Gary), the couple we helped out while in Terlingua. Barb & Gary wanted to thank us by taking us to dinner and welcomed us to their beautiful home. Once we arrived, there were cocktail on the patio and the adventure stories flowed faster then the drinks.

After an amazing dinner at a local restaurant, we had a night cap and the stories continued via the TV. Barb & Gary showed us their photos and videos from trips all over the US and to every stunning National Park you could think of! The homemade limoncello made the nights end magnifico.

The White Elephant Thrift Store was the event of the day. A line waiting to get in and an organ player!

Another Valley, Oro Valley (JoeAnn & Bub’s, Alice’s friends)

I’m sitting outside, where the mountains boarder the backyard creating a picturesque view. Birds, from all over, sing a different tune but somehow they are unison. It’s a lovely morning symphony. The fragrant smell of the blossomed flowers causes pain in my face and sinuses. My allergies can’t take such pollen filled spring sweetness.

Last night we had dinner at a great local restaurant for JoeAnn’s Birthday. We had a lovely evening of delicious food, drink and Alice enjoyed catching up with her dear friends. My attention went to the buzz of the busy restaurant. It had been years since I’ve worked in a place like this, what a lifetime ago. I couldn’t decide if I missed it our not but I did know I’m glad to have that skill in my back pocket, just in case.

Good Vibrations

It’s great being here and being around Aaron (my brother). He had dinner all ready when we arrived, ham and beans…..YUM!!!! Alice and him are getting along very well. After dinner, we all sat chatting around the table about art and traveling. It’s so nice being around Aaron’s positive and good energy.

On the way to Joshua Tree we stopped by Leonard Knight’s Salvation Mountain to say ‘HI’ and get some lovin’

I woke up at 3am with a KILLER bad soar throat. My allergies have now become a cold! I was in so much pain that I took some Advil. Finally I got to sleep.

In the morning, Alice and I drove through the park (Joshua Tree National Park). She was in awe of the rock formations. No place like Joshua Tree.

It feels good being here. My cold even feels a bit better by being here, well, that’s what I tell myself! I’m grateful that I’m able to get some rest this afternoon cause tomorrow things start getting really busy round here. The 3rd Joshua Treenial is about to start and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
