The 3 Grateful
As I mentioned before, I have a LOT of change happening in my life. Graduating from van life, focusing on female empowerment, and becoming engaged. These changes have brought things that I was NOT expecting. For instance, during one of our first meals together, my fiance hit me with a very surprising, yet most epic daily practice that, I'm stoked to say, we have brought into our lives.
"What are 3 things you are grateful for today?" he asked me. His words sped out hitting me right straight in the heart. I was in awe. This question brought instant gratitude that I was in his presence and it filled me with love. He later told me he got this idea of gratitude from Shawn Achor's book "The Happiness Advantage".
When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive. This discovery has been repeatedly supported by research in psychology and neuroscience, management studies, and the bottom lines of organizations around the world. - Shawn Achor
For this week, I feel its very fitting to focus on gratitude. This practice may cause you to be vulnerable, which I'm grateful for but I know vulnerability can lead to fear. I also know, that the more we practice gratefulness AND vulnerability the less scary it becomes and the more pleasurable it will be. If you add this simple practice to your daily life I KNOW that your fear will be replaced with love.
Challenge for this week: Add the 3 Grateful to your daily life. Either ask your family at dinner, friends over drinks or message me on this blog but share the 3 things you are grateful for each day. Do this all week long, month long, or add to your daily practice to see if you feel your heart swell.
I'm grateful for my family and friends. They give unconditional love and support to me AND the world. I would have not survived van life without them. I wouldn't be able to survive the crazy adventures I do and I won't be able to love the way I do without them.
I'm grateful for the ability to train for Tour Aotearoa and that I'm in such great health (physically/mentally) to take on such a grand adventure.
I'm grateful for waking up to such an amazing, strong, compassionate, loving, beautiful, sharing man and that I get to wake each morning, from here on out, to him.
